Attached are my current blooms of Paph villosum and Paph insigne (from 2 plants). insigne did not bloom last year, but has rewarded me with 5 blooms & 2 blooms on another plant. Seriously needs repotting as I have lost couple of growths with rot due to hardly any space in the pot.

all lovely paphios
a nice collection Satish.
Beautiful flowers Satish! May I ask how easy/difficult are paphs to grow in Bangalore ? And how long do the blooms last ? Thanks in advance...
Hi Nandini,
insigne and villosum are relatively easier to take care. I do not give them direct light, they get only indirect light. they like to be a little on the moist side during their growth and cut down during the winter. Take care not to have water in their crown as they are highly prone to crown-rot. I grow them in a mix of cocopeat, sand, charcoal powder + small pieces and perlite. The flowers typically last I think about a month or so. But, I have only now been able to get them to flower well (relative to my last 2 years, that is). Maybe other paph experts can chime in to correct or to add to what I said.
You can PM me your contact details, and I will keep you posted the next time I get paphs.
