The Massachusetts Orchid Society annual show is this weekend at Tower Hill Botanic Garden and I can't go. I can't drive for the next 10 days or so because I'm having surgery on my shoulder and it really pi$$e$ me off since I was supposed to have this done in Sept. but the surgical center screwed up the testing and it got canceled. Ah well, next year.

Ooh - I wish you the best of luck with your surgery. My husband has had three shoulder surgeries ... so far. Need a nurse?
Pavel - Now you tell me, I knew there was a reason I should have had children! Alas, I fear that I will also be under the influence of some heavy duty pain meds and probably be pretty sleepy most of the time.

The pain meds will be a good scapegoat for your ordering excessive amounts of plants online...you can spend more money than you would have at the show to offset your disappointment. After all, "I was high as a kite! I don't remember placing THREE orders!".

I had shoulder surgery because of dislocation issues and though it took a few months to heal - it was the best thing I could have done. Sorry you don't get to go to the show, but you really should follow Jason's advice and order something special so that when you come out of the meds funk - you can wake up to some beautiful orchids blooms.
cheers,
BD
Well, you could plan to come to the Amherst MA orchid show in February. You should be completely recovered by then.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. And I think Jason has a good idea there!!!
