    Default Jack the Manx

    Jack's normal position when sleeping.

Jack is a rumpy. He has no tail, at all. He is a strange little cat Does many things that are un-cat like. He like some dogs is terrified of thunder storms and hides under the bed or in my closet. He does not use a cat box. He bangs on the door to go out and as soon as he is finished he bangs on the door to come in.

A quick happy/sad moment - this is Big Papi, my 25-lb Maine Coon. We called him the cat-dog because he taught us how to fetch. Papi is a mushball, and was so devoted to me that he started to act out when I got sick and in May, we finally made the heart-breaking decision that I couldn't take care of him while on chemo. He is happy back with his sisters at the breeder's home, nearby, and I miss him awfully, but I try to focus on it having been the healthiest choice for both of us. He was VERY jealous of my orchids!

Not having a great morning so far - will explain in the proper OT thread - but I'm working on my list of things to be grateful for - and there are many.

What neat cats - and I'm not a cat person. Ever since I have seen a Maine Coon and seen and learned how fantastic they are, I have thought I might want one some day. If I ever become a cat lady, it will be because of a Maine Coon...

I had a seal point Siamese shortly after I graduated that would sleep on his back with his back legs straight out and his front paws curled on his chest like yours. Too cute...

I am a great fan of the feline set and these posts just confirm how entertaining and fun cats can be. We have a cat that sits up like a Lemar and runs to greet visitors. She will lounge on a cocktail table near guests and observe the group for quite sometime. Cathy, any cat that doesn't use a cat box is definitely a neat cat! AL

oooohhhh....kitties.....my favorites! Just had to share my big boy as well.....his name is Loki, he is 11 and weighs 30 lbs. I don't know if it is a breed thing or individual cat thing but we had moved back home to take care of my terminally ill father. Loki and I have always been very in tune to each other. He could feel how stressed I was and he ended up becoming stressed himself. It was interesting that the day after my dad passed the stress in the household was lifted, he was no longer suffering and Loki was back to his old self. Animals are truly amazing!

    Cday,

I have had a Manx as well, a stumpy, in fact that was his name. He was the coolest cat I ever knew. Too bad they are heterozygotic and not a bred. Papi, our Maine coon that Maura posted was a beautiful cat who was devoted to her, hated me and was as psychotic as a cat can be. Not nearly as smart as my Manx. Wish I could find another one, although I am about over the purely indoor cat thing. Never had that until the Maine Coon and that was enough. Now we hadorchids and now have two Siamese Fighting Fish (in sperate bowls) - Barrett and Gordon Thanks for the post, Phillip C
