The lotus has buds !!!!

Looks very happy this year ....these will swell to about the size of a ex. large egg before opening... more spikes will shoot up as well. See what you have to look forward to Louis !

Just checked this morning--the one you gave us has some buds too! One bigger one that looks like it should open any day now, and a smaller one next to it. I can't wait--this should be really cool.

Okay, here are some updates to the lotus....Enjoy! The first few are bud shots, the next slightly open on the first day and evening, and finally the full lotus. I think it is interesting how it started out red and ended yellow.

That is one happy lotus BD ! I love the blue dragon fly on the bud in the 3rd picture ....
Wait till you see the seed pods these guys make...they look like shower heads ,and are used a lot in dried floral arrangements. If you want to dry your own..hang them upside down so they will stay straight, otherwise your shower head will have a crook in it ! Congratulations to you and Louis on successfly blooming this...they can be tempermental if you damage the "eye".
