What is this??

Have had this Dend. kingianum, for a couple of years now, and this has developed in the last week or so, what tha?? Can anybody tell me, it's not a keiki is it?

Yeah, it is a keiki. They are actually pretty common on Den. kingianum.

Whew!! As I said previously, I have had this Dend. over 3 years, split it 12 months ago, flowered etc. each year, but this year, was under a bit of stress, moved it into new shadehouse and received more sun on the leaves, which resulted in a bit of sunburn, so the poor chid. probably got a shock which has resulted in a keiki. I have heard of these kingianums putting out keikis, but I have never had one before. Thanks guys for getting on the ball quickly. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. hug, hug.

All I can get from mine is keikis! Strong light, weak light, wet, dry, low nitrogen ferts, cool nights, warm nights...still just keiki after keiki. I know it is a bloomer; bought it with tons of blooms!

I know Jason they love a lot of light, sunshine, to get flowers. Beautiful perfume. You must have the wrong regime for your area.

Keiki is a baby plant. It is a Hawaiian term meaning baby.

(A keiki is when an orchid develops a stem or spike that produces a new baby plant that you can take of a grow, Phal. though USUALLY sends up a keiki when the plant is gonna die. It send it out the middle of the crown.)

Rut row, I have two Phals that I thought were ok and they have sprouts coming out of crown. It looks like a new leaf is that what keiki looks like?
