Default new cattleya hybrids in cold weather

I have recently aquired four cattleya hybrids Blc. and Pot. that are quite young. They were shipped in 3 in. pots and had about 3 p.bulbs each. They are out doors in Stuart FL which is just North of Palm Beach. The weather report is for the night time temps to be in the hight 40s for the next few nights. Should they come inside for the night in temps like that or will leaving them outside be OK? I also have some hard cane Dendrobiums. that are mature plants. I would guess they would be OK as long as the temps don't go below 45 or so. I'm new at this so any info would be helpful.

If they are really young, I'd bring them in to be safe. Mature, established plants would be fine in the upper forties for a brief period especially if dry. Just my two cents!

I'd bring them in too. They's survive, but I think they'd be happier a bit warmer.

That small, the orchids could get cold damage. I would bring them in as the others have suggested.

    cheers,

Thanks Jason, I did bring them in. It turn out not to be as cold as expected, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks Bruce, I did bring them in, and it promises to be cold again tonight. I just found out how to pick up replies to my questions/treads. I went to your instructions on how to look up thread I've started, so I'm learning. Thanks again. Fred

Thanks Kathi, I took your advice and I'm sure at that young age they were happier indoors. Thanks again, Fred
