    Default Algae in S/H

Those who get algae buildup in s/h pots, do you leave it be or get rid of it?

I have left it, figuring that since seaweed emulsion is good for orchids, a little algae couldn't hurt. I guess if it started to take over it might though. I'll be curious to see other replies.

I usually leave it alone, but make sure to remove algae that clogs the drain holes.
If it gets really bad, try switching to S/H containers that are solid color to prevent sunlight from reaching inside the container. Wrapping them in aluminum foil works too.

The nice thing about S/H culture is that you can relocate the entire plant into a new S/H pot and then you can clean up the old pot. The plant will barely feel this change.

Thanks all, I'll leave it be.
