    Default A confused phal hybrid

This hybrid is blooming with both peloric and normal blooms in the same clump. This has bloomed before and it was normal. I'm not sure why this happen...anybody experienced this before?
P1 is the peloric blooms. P2 is normal blooms. P3 is the clump with the top right spike is the normal blooms.

I as Betty, think the color is outstanding. I normally do not like peloric in any form. I would take either of these both normal and peloric and be very happy.

Beautiful and unusual, peloric or not (I actually like peloric in phals).

I actually prefer the peloric in this case.

Mazlan, are the peloric flowers coming from a particular plant or a couple of particular plants in that clump? If so then I would guess that either:
    1) When you bought/recieved this clump of plants, it actually already had both normal flowering and peloric flowering plants. The peloric ones had simply not flowered in your care before.
    -or-
    2) If you originally grew this clump from a single plant, then at some point that plant produced a "sport" -- an offset with a peloric mutation.

    Mazlan:
Sometime peloria is not always constant. If you can rule out Pavel's theory then you have a "chimera", that is, a plant with two different set of genes (normal and peloric). I'm guessing this is a mericlone. Looks like some Phal. stuatiana is on the backgrond (lip + spots in lower half of lat. sepals).
