I got this box in a trade recently. The boy likes it, and thanks Gilda in the only way he can: by squirming around and being cute.

Ahh, what a cutie. 'The Boy' doesn't have any other name? My cat prefers the 'peanuts' that Louis packs his plants with. She bats them around for a while then (vicious hunter that she is) bites them to hear that nice crackling sound.

His name is Amos Wickey, but we just call him 'the boy.' He used to have a mania for those 'peanuts'. When he'd find one, he'd take it in his mouth and run away as fast as he could, while frantically chewing, for he knew that if we caught him we'd take it away from him.

    He's mellowed a bit as he's aged.

Gilda, if you really want a cat, we have one too many.

To wit: The boy (Amos Wickey) and Tommy (Thomas Nixon) do not get along, and never have. There would be much less strife and turmoil in our household if one of them had a new home, as much as we'd hate to see either of them go. And the third cat, Wallace (Wallace Beauford Neely), is sick of all the fighting too. Or at least we figure that's why he sleeps so much. Either that, or he's lazy.

LOL...can you tell us where these names came from ??? Too cute...
My cat's name was Puddy...no, not like Tweety Bird's "I taught I taw a Puddy Tat", but shortened from Puddin', which was her kitten name.
She also loved boxes, and the 'boy' brought back fond memories....Puddy passed away in 2001 after residing with us for 14 years.

I think I will wait a few more years before getting another cat....too much traveling ,orchids, etc. going on now, but thanks for the memories, and the offer !

I'm afraid there aren't really many stories.

The boy was known as the boy before he got named Amos Wickey. He got named Amos Wickey because he just looked like an Amos Wickey. At least as much as a cat can.

As you can see here, he's perfected his technique of sitting in this box. Looks kinda like he was just poured in, doesn't it?

Tommy got named Tommy just because he kinda looks like he would be. Then he got his last name because I think he looks a little like Richard Nixon, so we figured they're probably related.

He looks kinda funny here, probably because I had just woken him up.

Wallace came to us as a stray. When we took him in, we decided he looked like a Mr. Neeley. Only later did we discover the kids at the local elementary school has (inexplicably) named him Wallace. The only thing left was to realize the only proper middle name for a Wallace Neeley living in Nashville, TN (where I lived at the time), was Beauford.

I took two pics of Wallace, since he's always everybody's favorite cat. He also goes by 'Captain Fat.' His eyes are slightly different colors. He does not meow, but instead communicates by means of small grunty goat noises.

You can see the boy, still in his new box, in the back on the left.

What a great kitty belly shot on Wallace. Does he like to have his belly rubbed? My current can loves a good belly rub, my prior cat would have shredded your hand if you tried to rub her belly!
