Default Blc Chia Lin New City AM/AOS in full bloom

I finally have my Big Cattleya Orchid in bloom and the fragrance is just delicious like cinnamon candy it was definalely worth the patience and waiting. I bought the Catt. on 6.23.11 with two exsisting sheaths. I re-potted the Catt as it was very cramped in its pot. I was very excited but booth sheath got yellow and dried out. Very disapointing as I had no bloom. But I promised to be patient and on 11.15.11 the Catt. developed 3 new sheaths on new growth that had developed. Two of the sheaths had something growing inside and one dried out again. On 12.7.11 on bud was starting to break out of the steath and on 12.12.11 the first bloom was fully open. On 12.16.11 all three flowers are fully exstended. What a reward, I can't stop smelling the cinnamon candy, it is intixicating. So it took approximately 5-6 month for the bloom to develop from the new growth to the bloom. Hope you like it. Happy Holidays to everybody.

Simply awesome, the color texture and shape are all amazing. Mine was in bud when I transported it from Bremen to India, but sadly I missed the flowers during my trip to Singapore, when I came back I was greeted by the dry flowers

Thank you Kathi, Connie, Jason & Amey for your comments, I am very happy with my blooms can not stop taking pictures and smelling the holiday fragrance. Actually Amey when the Catt started to open the first bud I went on a cruise and I was worried that I miss the day the blooms will open but I made it just in time. This is actually my first Cattleya bloom that I have experienced with Catts in my care.

    Good growing, Gabriela!!

I love this Cattleya. Wonderful flowers, wonderful scent. Unfortunately, my plant ceased blooming this year after Black Rot, but it did survive.
