    Default My urban patio "Jungle"...

Here's a few shots of my small townhouse patio. I don't put a lot outside for fear of bugs... only the ones I know they don't like or are easily treated. None of the orchids go out for more than 1/2 day once a week at watering time, for the same reason.

    Here it is...

The fountain is my own homemade creation, and the birds absolutely love it. I had a baby Baltimore Oriole in it this morning, a Blue Jay last night, and the Purple Finches and American Goldfinches drink right out of the falling stream of water!

Some of the plants include Jade, several cacti, Tillandsia, Sago, Ficus lyrata, Aloe, Setcreasea, Swedish Ivy, and Fukien Tea.

Fountain?? I thought it was a STILL!! Darn, I was all excited there for a minute.... I do love having birds in the garden, my oriole feeder has been seeing lots of visits from Bullocks and Hooded orioles this month.

Is that a bonsai tree on the shelf? The patio looks wonderful--ready for a party!

    Cheers!

BD- Yeah, that's a bonsai. It is a Fukien Tea Tree. Age is about 6-7 years (I think?).

Gilda- Love the St. Francis statue with the cacti - very nice!

Matt, I think the cow skull looking thing under the fountain adds a nice touch, too...

It's an immature buffalo skull. Geesh, "cow skull looking thing"...the buffalo spirit is offended! Hah! lol (p.s. - you ought to see the full size one I had out there all Spring, before it went to its new altar...it scared the chipmunk, birds, neighbors, and at times I think the plants!)

    Aha!

That's what Gin needs instead of those things that try to squeak and yap when they detect movement:

    A BUFFALO SKULL!!
