I posted my greetings in the Intro forum, but here are the other 3 pics of my new Onc.
-It is obviously a 'Dancing Doll' type and to my suprise during the brightest part of the day it has a light scent, so maybe Cheriophorum in it's parentage? Is that one of the mildly-fragrant species or am I maybe thinking of Onustum? Or, quite possibly, neither-I have been out of orchids for 2 years so it is all a bit rusty
I didn't expect it to have any scent at all, since I have never noticed that with a Dancing Doll type in the past
It is smallish (for now!) and the spike is nice and sturdy yet gracefull. (Sorry for the messy apartment in the background!
I beleive it's a "dancing lady" type...
It's likely to remain a NOID, but the arrangement of flowers on the inflorescence is similar to Gower Ramsey.
Very pretty 'dancing ladies' (as we refer to them here in Malaysia). It is very difficult to ID these yellow goldiana-type oncidiums with any certainty, but if they are bigger than theusual types they could very well be Onc Gower Ramsey as suggested by Michael.
Very pretty! Although some oncidiums are fragrant, those yellows usually aren't. You're lucky to have one that is fragrant.
Very pretty...Although, I have never known a Gower Ramsey to be even slightly fragrant....and I have had a number of them. Betty
Yeah the fragrance was a nice bonus, totally unexpected. This onc type is similar to the one that got me obsessed 5+ years ago. I know that one never had a scent because I looked at it up-close about 40 times a day, since I was so thrilled with it and never smelled a thing. ...Admit it, you all have done this too!
Lovely, I saw this orchid in your 'return' introduction. Really a cheerful and happy looking orchid!
cheers,
