I used Superthrive a few years ago but I can't say I noticed any difference in my plants. I stopped using when I switched to liquid seaweed, which I still use now. There's one well known commercial grower in this area who uses Superthrive once a month on all his orchids and recommends it to his customers. I can't say that I have an opinion on it one way or the other.

As others have said, I know folks who swear by it, and I know those who believe it is a waste of $. Being that I have never used it, I chose not to vote.

also guilty of starting a thread myself on superthrive. Went through a 30ml bottle 2010 - 2011, got eye strain from being curious of text on the bottle, now close to end of vitax seaweed ext supply, have some SPthr on its way 5th march 2012. Only really learned by 1 mistake and that was the strict adherence to dosage - too often and growth can be distorted, too generous and bye bye new roots shoots with that adorable light green tip.. Its not magic as some people expect same for kln it does not suddenly show signs of mass growth overnight but results in terms of reward in root promotion are evident in a close time frame 4 - 6 week e.g. and this does not coincide with an approaching or current grow season. It stinks.............but in smell terms and not bold upfront fraudulent promises/ claims. Additionally have tried and tested other root hormone products powder, liquid and they have provided me with 0 on the results scale from observation.

i have been corrected on one issue though, as SPthr belongs to rooting hormone range, seaweed is a high nitrogen fertilizer. Specialist orchid feed 30 10 10 crystals - 23% ureic nitrogen - has gone in the bin after concluding that it was this very 'specialist 'product that hindered root growth and burned those fresh green tips away and furthermore confirmed that local tapwater is innocent as far as this area goes but easily toxic with high nitro feed even so with rain but damage not so severe.

Conclusion -1 Superthrive many advantages with 1 or 2 important cautions to follow and lacking in factual info ofcourse.
..................2 Specialist marketed orchid feed crystals 30 10 10 law abiding, regulations compliant and detailed ingredient breakdown - notorious hinderance, toxicity and damage potential of root growth.

    aint it funny...?

mixing high nitrogen feed 30.10.10 is fatal with its resulting chemistry after mixing with tap.

    2012 rotation/ usage moderation.
    1 Superthrive
    2 Seaweed extract
    3 genral orchid feed 7.9.5.
