    Cool Epc. Siam Jade 'AVO'

    I have begun ordering my cattleya types so that I am challenged to work harder for my flowers. This plant arrived roughly 3 or 4 months ago...and here is my first blooming with 3 flowers.

    I like it, Connie. Love the texture contrast between the waxy and soft frilly. Is there something about this one that makes it more work to bloom?

    The compact cattleya are generally easier to bloom for me. I have a bad habit of buying flowers instead of waiting for the ones in spike. So I've started getting plants that aren't in spike or anything. I spend more time out in the greenhouse repotting and spraying instead of going shopping for flowers.
