I love it and I love your attitude!

Great setup Naoki. Your Vandas are terrific. Good growing.

I'm suprised there isn't a lazy boy nearby. I'm afraid i'd have to have a nice spot to sit and admire that sight...wow! Nice vandas!

Connie, the room temp during the day is pretty much around 70ish. I could spend hours going through my plants. When I get tired, I just sit on the floor. Since the floor is even 'padded', it is comfortable.

I cannot wait to show y'all some Vandas once they all bloom. There are approximately 7 or 8 in spike right now. One of them is called, V. Roman Empress, which is V. sanderiana alba hybrid. It is showing 'double' spikes this year.

One thing I forgot to mention...... Do you see the empty countertop, were the fan is sitting on the first pic? Per Mike, that area is not allowed to put any growing orchids.

p.s. Bruce, thank you for combining the threads into one.

What a cool set up, Naoki! I love the vanda city. Do you know what the humidity is inside the shower curtains? I'm having some modest success growing vandas in the windowsill, but only the ones that already have massive root systems are happy here. The others have their fingers crossed hoping for summer when they can go outside.

all credit to you Naoki!!!!!!!! makes me think of that room in film 'silence of the lambs' with the hawk moth colonies. Brilliant approach. Was this your first initial approach to your orchid interest or a result of many learning curves merged into one final growing technique. Definetly need a lazy boy, sit back and admire your creation. You should be very proud and indeed hope you are!!!! Bravo. I would be very clever now and attach those little icons all doing a mexican wave but someone else will need to do the honors!

    Thank you, Matt and Trish.

Matt, perhaps most of credits go to my partner, Mike, who created the light setting as we moved in to the current house. As for the 'Vanda house', I drew the picture as to how I wanted it to look like. He pulled the circular saw and cut PVC pipes based on the measurement I provided. I must say it is a result of many learning curves.

Trish, the humidity inside the house is around 60-70%. As I mentioned before, the temparature is controlled the thermometer during the HOT days. Believe or not, we get 90+F days in summer.
