Well that move went well.

After looking like a molt was imminent for what seemed like "forever", Tannenbaum molted. Ecdysis occurred without a hitch this time. (Last time, Tannenbaum had a bad molt and I was concerned as whether it would survive to molt again ... and do so successfully if it did.) It was also time to step it up into a larger enclosure, IMO. So first order of business was to extract the bugger from its silk tube.



And of course there was the obligatory short stroll as we went from the old to new estate.



Upon entering its new enclosure, it headed straight for the bark "tube" I had set up for it. Gotta love it when a plan comes together.



Move went off without a hitch.

OMG...I don't dislike spiders but not sure if I would want to keep one, except for my new spider addition, which I suspect you might like. I will take a picture of my new Theridiidae

I bet you would like this...a recent acquisition for me.
The abdomen, of the spider, is a black star sapphire. I much prefer 14K gold spiders over crawling, hairy ones. hahaha
Paul, What type of tarantula is it? I saw one in Belieze, out in the wild. I have seen some beautiful ones in pet shops. The most beautiful I have seen pics of was a Poecilotheria metallica

It's a subadult Avicularia versicolor.

Looks like a very old style of design. The black saphire makes for a neat abdomen on the widow. Does it have a discernable 'star' within the gem?

P. metallica are absolutely beautiful as adults. Unfortunately, they are hideously expensive (by my standards) even as slings.
