I have my spring order list ready when the weather gets a bit warmer in Pacific Northwest.

I received this Vanda Denisoniana X Vanda Mimi Palmer just three days ago and its now in full bloom. How nice to get this in perfect shape from Florida. It smells like Root Beer and there is a fairly heavy substance to the flowers. Watch out all you Floridians out there raising Vandas! Here in New Mexico we are genetically engineering the latest and greatest in horticultural achievements! It will be know as the Desert Vanda, or the latin name of Post Mortem Crispus. It will have no fragrance and will not stay on a spike, but it will press well between the pages of a book. AL
Florida isn't just for oranges any more.

Naoki; I held out for two plus months and didn't order a single orchid, but having a wee bit of spending cash i decided on a Vanda fix.... Now I to should be able to hold out till spring................By the way spring comes early to New Mexico.................like the end of Febuary....lol. AL
I have not added any 'new' plants for a few months. Actually, thanks to constant blooms on my Vandas one after anther, I did not crave for new plants. Thanks goodness!
Nice orchid addition AL! Bravo!
cheers,
BD
Thanks Bruce! It's a appreciated. AL
Beautiful vandal, Al.Mine is of a different colour - more like denisonniana, greenish yellow. Hey, does your desert vanda sprout roots when pressed between the pages of the book like my kalanchoe, I wonder?
Only if I mist the pages/roots daily and it helps if its a book on orchid fertilizer..........AL
I love the cross!
Awesome hybrids AL denisoniana really dominant in this crossing.Zain
