I'm interested in what you said, can you share a picture of how you stake.
Furthermore, when i moved my plants to S/H, i made sure that the plants areal roots stayed outside the pots, that's why the plants are flipping.

    Kitty,

Thank you for your pictures. I will implement your method once the phals establish some new roots.
I have a question for you, the last phal that you acquired yesterday, did you get it already potted in S/H or did you repotted yourself, if you did it yourself, what was the medium that the phal was potted in?

    Thanks.

Kitty, I meant the medium before hydroton, was it bark or moss?

I had a delivery of 100 litres of Hydroton this week, looked a little dusty - i put it in buckets with good rain water, and after 24 hours the water gave a reading off the scale - which goes up to EC 4000 !. After three changes of water its now down to just over 1000 - so maybe another two changes it will be ready for use. But do beware anyone using this stuff - it can be very fiery indeed !

Dorstman, I clean my hydroton with a pressure hose to remove all the dust a couple of times, and then soak it for 24 hours prior to use.
