Default Cymbidium House At Longwood Gardens

This was the most colorful of the Longwood orchid houses. The cymbidium collection is just coming into bloom. The cymbidiums are housed here from late October to May when they are summered outdoors in the mum field. Large display mums are housed in this house during the summer. The cymbidiums are fantastic.

So many cymbidium orchids. Man, those guys take up a lot of space in a greenhouse. Such pretty blooms though.

    cheers,

Lovely collection. If I'm ever back there I'll be sure to visit.
Mini Cyms are very compact and don't take up as much space. Many of them bloom nicely in 5 inch pots and have rather small bulbs so when thinking about Cyms don't always assume they need a lot of space.. Just ask around and you will find there are many that are very compact!!

Just beautiful, Bill. I would have stayed in there for a long time.
