    Default unknown species-ID please?

HI, guys! Went to the south bay orchid society show yesterday and bought a bare root plant from a vendor whose Phillipine accent was so thick I couldn't understand her but I was so enthralled by the plant I just had to have it! You all know the feeling! Anyway, I've taken a few pics so you gurus could id it for me. The vendor told me in her own way that it should be cultured just like a cymbidium so I potted it up in a basic cym mix I use in a clay pot. She also said it grew in full sun but I immediately sunburned it slightly! Anyway, here it is:

That is a Dendrobium speciosum. I grow mine in a variety of locations-some are in the greenhouse, some are under shade and some are on the porch in full sun. They do well! Cultivate just like any aussie dendrobium, with plenty of water throughout the year. I found the D. speciosum to be rather hungry plants....I think yours could be var grandiflorum, or something close.

For some reason, it just looks like it would be fragrant to me. Is it?

Dear Jordan, Sorry it took so long to get back to you and thanks so much for the ID!
I imagine it will take a bit for it to come out of shock...it is losing its blooms now and pretty soon I'll snip the spikes. How much water does it want? Is it really hungry? Does it need a resting period? Should I acclimate it to full sun or shade grow it?
So many questions and so little knowledge about this plant!

Nope, no resting period, just experiment with light levels, it will soon deicde which is right for it, they are pretty resiliant, so it shouldnt take long for some new growths to appear, maybe 3 months? Feed it every fortnight, i use an organic emulsion at reccomended strength. Water once-twice a week. Flush it through EVERY TIME.
