Smile Paphiopedilum Memnon (Paphiopedilum spicerianum x Paphiopedilum charlesworthii)

Unlike the cross of (Paphiopedilum charlesworthii x Paphiopedilum spicerianum), our cross is much lighter and way less red than the flower pictured in Orchid Wiz. I assume because of the cross being reversed, but I leave that to the experts. I really enjoy this slipper orchid bloom. It is a small plant with a huge flower. It was bequeathed to me after the passing of a friend from my orchid society. She left a note for me and two orchids (this hybrid and a Paph spicerianum). I was so surprised. Every time either of the plants bloom, I am reminded of Irene and her beautiful smile.

Sometime it makes me wonder whether Paphiopedilum Vejvarutainum is a natural hybrid of these 2.
