    Default Cattleya schroederae var. albescens

I always had problems with this plant that is rather weak and produces few roots.
    Nevertheless, the flowers are pretty.

That is gorgeous !! I know these flowers will be better in real life, since the camera cannot pick up the faint traces of pink on the lip very effectively. Life is not fair, the most beautiful plants are not always the the strongest growers, it is well known even for warscewiczii. I think its natures way of getting gid of all the atypical plants, you won't find many albas and albescens in the wild. I think much help and research needs to go into breeding such beautiful cultivars.

I echo Bruce's comments completely; if the flower is, as Amey says, even prettier, then it must be truly stunning to see in person. Congrats with both flower and photo!

Its hard to see a weak plant behind bold form and the amazing colors on these blooms. More power to you if you get such a uncertain orchid to bloom for you. AL

    That's true.
This is not my strongest Cattleya, it's obvious but it is still alive since 4 years, blooming every year in March (just after trianae) with 2 to 3 flowers.
It is a very elegant species. I need another one !
    Thank you all.
