I should have guessed it was a Canon point-n-shoot - I have an a590 IS that takes great quality shots - and both of these will focus at close range (2"), which is far closer than my Nikon D80, which would require a macro lens.
Nice job setting up the photos - composition and lighting is more than half the game.

It looks like a lovely white bird has landed on a flower and that's as poetic as i'm getting tonight.
Beautiful - and such a strong-looking plant.
Wow! Superb all the way around. The bloom is a piece of art in itself. Love the flower. Well worth the wait! Thanks for sharing your success with us.
Absolutely awesome photography, and flowers.

The flower looked like white kit leather finely worked and beautifully finished, thanks again, I'd have gone my whole life and never seen that unless you had posted it :O)
Who's a clever Paphioboy then ? My word it is quite stunning. I bought one once in flower, but lost it the first winter . These things which disappear below ground every year are so tricky - especially in a wet dripping humid greenhouse like mine . Put it up on a shelf out of the way, and maybe I even forget to look for it in the Spring , and it tries to grown and shrivels up for want of water ; keep it down on the bemch and its sure to get spray mist from the Vandas, and rot away.
I bought another one, as a dormant tuber - the man said (!) and that never came up... After that I gave up .
But clearly you have mastered the problems - congratulations. Well done. I envy you.
