I thought that taking pics in the sunlight was a good idea , and using white card for a background too glarey ( if that is a word ?) but using the black card was certainly a bad idea . I'll try again when I can, but this is unlikely to be for another week or more - but there should be more flowers out by then.
In fact only the first flower has yet attained full size - about 4 inches , since as all Vanda lovers will know, the flowers open 1/2 size and then go on growing - at least that's what happens to me. But if I take the plant into the house for a display, they stop dead in their tracks, which goes to show that it is not temperature which is critical but the humidity and probably the light too, in the greenhouse.
Whatever, I am certainly rather pleased with this result.
The ID btw is Vanda Pachera's Delight , and since I have 4 or 5 of this grex, they all have names - this one is Midnight Magic.

Oh W-O-W. I'm speechless. This has to be one of the most glorious blues I've ever seen - makes me want to pick up my paints immediately to see if I can mix anything even approximating it!

I'd say no need to take any more photos - these are absolutely divine - but I'm too greedy and selfish - take more! Take more!

    'Nuff said.
