Unhappy Tell me about Nikon Coolpix 8800

I beginner to both orchids and photography. But now I have blooming pants and want to take pictures of them. My camera is Nikon Coolpix 8800. But I really dont know wether it is DSLR or not. And I want to know about handling of this camera perfectly. So if any of you use this camera please tell me good points of it. And if you have any secrets of this camera.
These are few blooms I take with my camera. Any suggestions will be kindly appreciated.

First let me congratulate you for taking such beautiful pictures of your orchids. I don't think you need any more advice on handling of this camera! Second, those orchids are beautiful - and among them one of my all-time favourites V Nellie Morley in the first picture (or at least an Emma van Deventer cross). Third, the Coolpix 8800 is not a DSLR. but an excellent capable camera, nonetheless - your excellent photos are proof of that.
