Well, most of my crab is already off of the body so I am pretty sure it is dead when I cook it. Too yummy to give up.

Crabs are predatory by nature and eat other animals small/weak enough for them to capture. They don't eat anymore crap than a cow or any other animal who just happens to ingest it from it being near-by. haha Shrimp also feed off of plankton, tiny fish and other small animals...I'm not sure who told you crustaceans live off of feces but...they don't. haha!

It's mostly the locals that say so, though they are really popular, along with 'sea cat' or octopus and 'conga' which is either eel or rayfish can't remember exactly which it is. Sea egg is also a delicacy down here but I don't like it, and it has been band because of over fishing.
