Default schomburgkia undulata, still no roots

So I mounted it over a month ago and still no new roots. How long should I wait before I become concerned? It does not appear to be wasting (yet). It is outside, I had it in full sun most of the day. I moved it to a more shaded area but still gets a ton of light.

Schomb's can be slow growing. When you mix your next fertilizer water, add a couple drops of superthrive to help encourage root growth. Sounds like you have your light levels good.

    Cjcorner,

Thanks for the reply, I will work on my patience. I think I saw some superthrive at a local plant shoe, I will pick some up.

    Thanks again,

I may need to plant me a mangrove forest in my backyard!

I think you may just need to give it warmth and humidity. I have a M. tibicinis, someone sent me a division last year, the new growth are not as yet large as last year's. the roots seem to grow all in a single spurt, many roots at the same time and not very long. In that area with the mangroves the humidity was higher than the surrounding landscape.

I mist it religiously, and it is outside. I live in Houston so we tend to have high humidity. I mist the leaves and water it weekly. How long before you saw the roots on yours?

I can't remember. when it was hot. . I think the roots rot easily. I was twice in Mexico (Quintana Roo) for 18 days total between march and may and it had not rained a drop once. also there is no morning mist / fog that i noticed. I would mist it sparingly until I see new roots. do you have any pictures?

I can take some, I am in in Canada right now. I will post a pic this weekend when I return to Texas.
