I bought this Cattleya in may 2011. Vendor told me it would make a good specimen in good time and now I see he was right. Three generations of growths are in bud or sheath now.
8 flowers are open so far and 4 more on the way. Two youngest growths are in sheath. Flowers are fragrant. Nice scent.
Enjoy!
Lovely !! Nice primary coerulea !
cud i ask why is it tied up in an unnatural way like that? is there a specific reason?
Of course. I don't do anything without a reason. The youngest growth was almost horizontal therefore took too much space in my growing area. You have to tie a young growth before it gets mature if you want it to be upright. Other growths are OK and never caused a problem, so it is not about them. I remove wire after a growth is well established. It works OK for me.
