I am relatively new to growing orchids but am falling in love with them. Unfortunately, my house is very shaded and does not have any good growing windows. Can someone recommend a good growing light or growing stand for someone who is new to orchids? I have 6-7 orchids now and don’t see my collection growing past 10-12. My orchids have been growing fairly well as most seem to bloom at least once a year. However, I know they are suffering from lack of sun-light and I’d like to improve their conditions.
Thanks for the assistance!
Scott
i don't have anything "official" to recommend,
but I use 42W CFLs, and 4' T8's for my light
requirements for phals, dends, and paphs.
I'm a DIYer, so I build stuff myself instead of
buying something made for orchids.
I've seen some really nice set-ups in the "grow area" thread,
which should give you plenty of ideas.
I don't have a shelf/stand, but if I did,
one of the best tips i've seen is to have the shelves
slide out like a drawer. That is a neat idea.
