I think it is time to reveal the identity of this cross it is Cattlianthe Loog Tone x Cattleya Hawaiian Wedding Song. It just sounds wrong to cross a waxy red maroon orchid with a white almost floofy Catt. But the results are amazing and I love it. The loog tone gives it the characteristic shape and that wonderful color to the lip whereas the wedding song gives some breadth to the lip and petals and also creates this nice pink shade. It is an unregistered cross, next time it blooms I plan to register and name it.

I knew I was out of my depth when you said it had aurantiaca in it. I flipped up to the picture half a dozen times, going, "no way, where???" It's a really pretty flower, and a cute plant, too.

I know Ctt Looq Tone is very variable in colour from maroon to yellow and the only C Hawaiian Wedding Song I've seen is white, but a pink offspring ......just shows what genetics can do, but whatever it is still a very attractive catt! Hope you get to register it before someone else does.

Yes I also thought the same. I could not figure out the color. But then I looked at the other offspring of Hawaiian wedding song and the maroon Loog tone. Chocolate drop x Hawaiian wedding song produces a a near identical flower, lacking just the shape of the petals and lip, that may be because of the higher influence of aurantiaca and guttata. Also Hawaiian song x Landate produces similarly colored and shaped flowers.

You can see the aurantiaca influence in the shape of the petals, and in the warmth of the pink. I figured it had to have something like that in there, because the xanthic aspect shows more readily when light shines through the petals.

    Fun game! Again?
