A good friend of mine exhibited this plant last spring. Unfortunately it wasn't fully open as this pic shows. He had a major problem with rot in the center & had to divide it up.
I was fortunately the recipient of a 3 cane plant, 2 canes with spikes. I'd suggest it won't be in flower for another month or two atleast. I'll post a pic of my piece when it does.
The flower color in this pic is correct !!!

Beautiful specimen. Lovely colour!
Magnificent! Great specimen! Hope it recovers soon.
Don't know that I can agree with the name, Roy. IMO, that plant is more than just "fair".Awesome specimen and beautiful flowers. My compliments to your friend.
Wish I had friends in my neighborhood like that! Lovely orchid...
Well, if that is the orchid he showed at the show - it was still amazing! WOW. Good luck with your piece.
cheers,

lovely.....i love Caularthron hybrids
Did you get enough divisions to share with us all?
Scrubber
I was surprised enough to get the piece I did, 3 canes isn't much to share. I am asking him to have it cloned, its definitely worth it, compared to some of the rubbish being offered. Many of these new releases ??? have been around for decades. Again, many of these plants were rubbish when they were first cloned & disposed of as soon as they flowered.
