I have about 75 orchids and that's plenty for the time being. BTW, Yew I knew that you would end up as the only sane, logically thinking person posting. Kevin your grow room idea sounds like a good one, especially in your climate. AL

I have 15 since I only have one suitable window. Am starting to expand with lights so I'll see how it goes...

So, fellow orchid lovers, I'd like to get an idea of where my obsession falls on the sliding scale. Am I just an enthusiast, or have I hit "hoarder" territory?

i choose for 100 and went out to count them and i'm right by the number...from now on i stop counting them because i fell so bad for a dollars that i spent on them and the number that i've just killed them.my heart still broken last week from killing all my 25 phals but i'm stubborn to try again.

I suppose I should probably update my numbers. I had originally posted this thread a while ago, and I am waaaaay past 40 now. I believe I stopped counting somewhere around 200. On the plus side, I've stopped worrying about whether I'm "over the top" with my orchid collecting. Instead, I've wholeheartedly decided that I just don't care if I've become an orchid hoarder. As long as I'm happy, we're not bankrupt, and no one has threatened to kick me out of the house yet, it's all good.

There's worst things to hoard than orchids. (I think I'm in the 60's...had only 10 a year ago).
Kitty, what happened to your phals?
