Same here. I'm only wiping with a damp paper towel or cloth.

i clean the leaves whenever i think of it, or whenever there’s so much dust/buildup that i fear it does interfere with photosynthesis. sometimes more often, sometimes i don‘t really care and let the chids just do their thing.

Well I have kind of a strange situation. The best place for my orchids is by one of the humming bird feeders and if it does not rain for a while,
humming bird poo (liquid mainly) starts adding up on the leaves. So an occasional wet wipe down is needed. Also during a dry spell, the dust,
dirt and tree bits add up a bit. I would just turn the hose on the plants, but our well is very deep and the water is only 50 degrees which
probably not that good for the plants.

How about a dedicated pump sprayer where you can use rainwater or store some well water until warmed up a bit.

That's an idea but I already get my pre softened water the night before and do mist some but it does not do much for removing "stuff". Of course that
"stuff" is what the orchids get in the wilds and is part of their natural absorption of minerals and nutrients.

I was advised to use a tad of mayonnaise… Anyone ever heard of that? Seems like it would make them awfully greasy.Mostly, I just use a damp paper towel to remove the dust…
