    Default Poll about Noids

Polls are getting popular, huh? Just to have some fun, and to see what people think of noids.

I personally am attracted to the bloom of the plant, but if it doesn't have a tag, I do not buy it. That being said, we have several NoIDs. Some because we misplaced the tag or others because of gifts. Sometimes at our society's auction we buy a NoID just to support the society, but usually it has to have a tag for me to spend the money on it.

    Cheers!

Since I don't breed, grow commercially, or even "show" my orchids, I buy what I like. But I do find that a lot of box store noids are not such a bargain when you have to go to a lot of expense to get them up to strength. But still - - if it looks lonely.....

I prefer to make my own noids... just be lazy and forget to make up that tag and next thing you know, you have a couple... course my fave floof is a noid so I still love em... but just won't buy em.

    cheers

Like Diane, I don't have a "reason" to not buy NoIDs,
    (don't show/breed/sell)
but when researching for what I might like,
they usually have names, so I usually want "that" plant.
The times when I "go NoID" on purpose,
are when I'm getting into a new genera,
and it makes it easier to get over killin' 'em
when we can keep it anonymous
and I don't know their names.

But if I'm wandering at a show, or something?
I notice the beautiful bloom first,
and don't care what it's called,
    I want it!

My own input...I usually don't care about names, especially on "rescue" orchids. Sometimes I do get annoid when trying to find the IDs on noids (extra hassle) but usually it's quite easy by using this forum !

Of course, don't let this post prevent more people from posting!

I have bought some Noids, but have gotten out of it. I take them as gifts, and after they bloom I may give them away if they are not to apealing. I have one Noid that I like, and untill I find one like it I will keep it, plus it grows like a weed and has 3 spikes again this year after deviding it last year. Generaly I will give Noids away to people I am trying to get itno orchids or as gifts. I will though no longer purchase NoIDs unless I get it from my OS from the raffle table.

I find if it's a heathy plant and I like the flower I'll buy it even without an ID. You can always hope to find it later.
