Thumbs up New Winter Grow Area, Welcoming the Autumn-Winter-Spring

Hi all, I had to accommodate all my sweeties indoors yesterday until spring next year. I admit, it was chaos. The blinds on the windows and conservatory door had to go because there wasn't enough depth; I couldn't get with them on the shelves. So, the windowsill is lush and the conservatory is now full with the orchids and herbs. With the threat of hidden spidermites/spiders and other creepy crawlies I had to use some pesticide just to make sure I am not inhabiting any carriers in the house. The preparation is done and the night temperatures dropping to single digits and with the threat of frost looming, I don't have to worry about it anymore. Our conservatory is always regulated to a lower temperature that could trigger blooming in most of them. It rather looks beautiful. I am now looking forward to the blooming cycle.

It is beautiful!! I hope you have room for a nice big comfy chair to sit and relax with your plants in this sunny room! So cool. My home has small windows so no where to really have plants inside. I have a few scattered here and there. Nothing like your beautiful display. So nice!

    Cheers,
    BD

Very nice and your plants look so healthy. I am presently on vacation and when I return home on Sunday have the same task facing me. With temps falling all my orchids need to be moved back in and my phals moved outside for a couple weeks to take advantage of the temp drops so they will spike. Again congratulations on a job well done.

Thanks, keeping in mind the sunny side will soon disappear we usually spend a lot of out time in there.

They sure do look healthy, having received full sun in the summer. I was tempted to keep them out a bit longer but there is this looming possibility of frost and I don't want to risk it.

Already getting cold?! We're still in the low 100s here (about 38 - 40 Celsius), so I forget how cool it gets in September.

You are right Patty, the winds are picking up. Autumn is almost touching and can feel it in the air. It can get very unstable weather-wise.
