Water the pots in the afternoon, then go out with a torch after sundown, then you will spot the snails (if you have them).

I used Boric Acid powder on the ground and in the corners of my greenhouse when I lived in Orlando it was cheap and effective on roaches in the garden. It was also good on snails because the crystals were caustic but do not get it on the plants
