Oh, those are some stunning blooms!! They look large, too. I debated getting one of these, but I have a dendrobium Green Lantern, which is quite similar I think. I should probably wait until the Green Lantern blooms before I go buying this one. But really...GORGEOUS flowers on that one. Great growing!!

I can't help but smile when I look at such a beautiful dendrobium. I think I'll go look at the pic again right now....

Thank you Jenn. Green Lantern is almost similar with slightly smaller and pointier flowers but with the most gorgeous and redder lip. Also GL is more tolerant of cooler conditions. Mine died from root rot a few months ago and I'll try to find a replacement.

It is Dawn Maree x formosum and the flowers are slightly bigger. I have just noticed I got the name the wrong way round - should be Roongkamol Vejvarut.

Awww, bummer. I hope you can find one! I had a difficult time getting mine... no one seemed to carry them at the time. Anyway, my GL has yet to bloom for me...it is the only one of my dendrobiums that is a "mystery" to me. All my others are quite reliable and predicable, but the GL just sits there sulking. It's not really doing much. I ended up contacting the grower, and he said it needs a calcium supplement and that it's also a very high feeder. He recommended fertilizing with every watering and putting supplemental calcium in the pot. I've done that...I think I see a difference, but I'm not quite sure. This thing grows "slower than molasses in January," as my mom would say.

Does yours have similar requirements? I think yours and mine are similar types of dends, from the same family... If you have any tricks or tips you could share, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm scratching my head over here trying to figure out why this ONE dendrobium isn't doing anything. It's my only nobile den, so that may have something do it with it. Not sure if the culture differs much from the hard-cane ones...the grower says he has his nobiles side-by-side with his hard canes and they are happy, but that didn't work for me. My GL started going yellow and dropping leaves when it was next to my antelopes. So now I have it with my catts, and it hasn't dropped leaves lately, so that's good.

Anyway, I don't mean to hijack your thread here...if you have any advice you can feel free to send me a pm if you don't want to clutter up your thread. I'm just drooling over your Vejvarut over here, thinking, "Why doesn't mine look like that?"

And on that note...I'm off to go drool over your photo again. (Don't worry...I'm not an orchid stalker...I won't come creeping around at night to take pics of it sleeping or anything...hehee....)
