    Beautiful bloom! I would have to think the Merkel side hailed from Alberts and Merkle Bros. Back in the day that was a fantastic orchid nursery.

    Your tag is problematic. There is a Rhyncattleanthe (Blc.) Jean Merkel, but it is yellow breeding. Sam Sharp doesn't show up as a registered name in the RHS data base, nor as a grex name or clonal name in the AOS awards. I think you have a very nice NOID.
