Ok so full in bloom. I am memorized by this plant. It is beyond the expectation I thought it would be. Now with all of that I know NOTHING about growing it. I know it is a complex hybrid and honestly that is about all I know.
The leaves are starting to yellow and the potting medium is only slightly damp. Do I let it dry out? Keep it in cattleya light? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that is really the most black flower I've ever seen, beautiful
That is so dark! It is a really beautiful bloom.
it's a great plant you got there Cathy. if the lead bulb is fully mature then you got nothing much to worry about the leaves turning yellow. but if the lead bulb is not fully mature and leaves are yellowing prematurely, then you might need to check the roots out after the bloom is over (and meanwhile keep watering minimal)
but if you plant is overall healthy, watering is done "following the leaves" and not the flower. the more the leaves, the more you can water. taper off watering as the leaves are shedding. if you plant is left only with the flower, only water if you notice bulb shrivel slightly.
you got a pic of the entire plant and also closeup on the lead bulb?
Beautiful blooms. I was told to quit watering once leaves dropped and more or less ignore the plant until new growth started. I was also instructed that I could repot during this time if I wanted. I followed those procedures when iI got my plant last year and it did well. This year it gave me two nice spikes, unfortunately I broke on during watering. I did mist the bulb perhaps once a month and resumed regular watering once the new growth started to unfurl it leaves. They do like lots of light.
Awesome!!!!!
There are only two bulbs. Thanks Bill and Ian for helping.
It is slightly damp, Ian. Should I give it a little water?
