Default a species Vanda, V. scandens

Endemic to the great island of Borneo, it is also found in the islands of Mindanao and Palawan in the Philippines.
Two small "arms" in the midlobe a distinguishing characteritic.

This plant has been with me for about a year. This is the first bloom; it was acquired without flowers. It is very gratifying to see the first bloom and know that the plant has been correctly identified.

All the other buds have blasted. Maybe the new roots are still a bit inadequate.

I really like the 'jester' shaped appearing vandas over the more ovoid/rounded ones. This one is a beauty.

Default Rence, I don't know where my orchid dealer obtained this plant.

She doesn't have an outlet in the Manila Seedling Bank Foundation, nor in the dawn market at Lung Center.

I think she got it from a small nursery or another hobbyist in a distant province.
