I currently use clay orchid pots, fir bark and construction galvanize wire as vertical support(s) & hangers with phone wire anchored to the vertical support wire to provide spacing and to hold psuedo bulbs in vertical orientation. The galvanized vertical also provides a good handle to lift and maneuver plants. This is only needed for such plants as cane dendrobiums, cattleya related and other species with vertical standing growth.
I'm thinking about using the S/H system with Prime Agri. One of my concerns is how to anchor plants and provide spacing and guidance. None of the photo showing S/H culture seem to show any use of vertical support associated with the plastic S/H pots. I checked several online stores and saw nothing that seems to fill the bill.
How do the S/H folks anchor/orient/space their polypodial plants in S/H with plastic pots?
I just use plastic stakes & ties for the plants that have floppy/wayward growth. Most plants seem to grow really sturdily in s/h & don,t need any support.
Den ochreatum,s canes do tend to fall over & make the plant look untidy so here,s my solution.
