The only slipper orchid I own. My wife says she doesn't like them, but liked this when she saw a picture of it and seems to like half the others she sees pictures of. LOL
I repotted this and most of my other orchids over the last couple months. A week or so after repotting, it started sending up a spike. Must have made it happy, or it was just coincidence. Either way I'm surprised it gave me five flowers again after repotting it so soon. Last year it did the same.

Very nice!
a wonderful species!
Wonderful show. Love the blooms.
wow outstanding display
Wow! How are you growing it? Water, lights, fertilizer, etc.
Gorgeous - you should put it on the dining room table for show! P. sanderianum x P. philippinense isn't a registered cross?
I agree, Wow!
I just repotted it from fine fir bark to coconut husk chips, perlite, and charcoal mix in a six inch pot. It is usually pretty dry when I water it. Drier than I would like. It is under florescent lights inside on the bottom of three shelves of orchids. I would prefer that it would get more light, but that is where it has to be right now. I fertilize with "Dyna-Grow Orchid Pro" fertilizer. 7-8-6. I would like to fertilize my orchids every couple of weeks, but I'm lazy and they rarely get it once a month. Probably every month and a half. I put half a capful of that fertilizer in a gallon of water. My water is well water.
