Hi everyone - I'm finally getting around to photographing and posting some of the stars blooming in my orchid collection right now. Although this plant is not nearly the size of Roy's friend's (earlier post), it has four spikes and about 25-30 charming blooms. A very leggy plant - with multifoliate (like 4 leaves at one juncture) characteristics, but its overall effect is lacy and elegant.
The parents of Fair Jewel are Caulolaelia Snowflake and C. rupestris. The color in the photos is pretty close. Photographed in indirect daylight, the blooms have a purplish-blue color.
