Question Pseudobulb rot

Over the years several of my Cattleyas have developed pseudobulb rot. I have tried various published remedies with no success. When one of my Catyclias developed rapidly spreading pseudobulb rot, I decided to try something different. I soaked the plant and medium in a broad spectrum fungicide I use in the garden. The active ingredient is Chlorothalonil - 12.5%. I used one tablespoon per gallon. I repeated the treatment three times at four day intervals. I have waited a month and the plant is producing new growth with no signs to the disease. I would like to ask the experts if this treatment has promise or if I have simply been granted a temporary reprieve.

A temporary reprieve from fungus problems is all us orchid growers can ever hope to accomplish. Here in South Florida we are constantly battling fungus. It sounds like you did a good job on your orchid.You may want to consider treating monthly as a preventative solution. I use a fungicide once a month during our wet season.
