Default Cymbidium Golden Elf 'Sundust', HCC/AOS

It has been a while since I posted any of my cymbidium orchid blooms. This fragrant yellow cymbidium is growing on my back porch for the summer. I leave it out side during the summer until the first frost. It was attacked by horrible scale two years ago and has just now really started to recover. Now I only worry about the grass-hoppers eating the buds. I just finished spraying in the greenhouse and then the orchids on the back porch and saw that this one was blooming. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. I wish everyone could smell the wonderful fragrance too.

I find that even though Golden Elf is often described as "warmth tolerant", it actually thrives if kept warmer than most other cymbs.

Guess that is why it grows so well here. It is hot here. Especially in August and September.

    cheers,
