Default Den. budding but not openning?

Upfront I would like to apologize for my ignorance...be kind.

About a year and a half ago my wife bought me a Den. in bloom. the flowers faded and I continued with its resting care. When spring came I decided to divide my plant and started 3 new pots. All the pots continued to grow and 2 started to shoot out spikes in October. The growth on the spike seems to have ceased and each has a number of unopened buds.

I am wondering if I should continue to be patient with these buds or should I be concerned I am not doing something wrong. Since the first down the stem has been there for almost a month.

    I need advice. Thanks.

    Not ignorance
First what kind of Dend. is it ? did the bloom spike come out of the top of the cane , or blooms from nodes directly on the length of the cane .
If it is what I am guessing , it might be a light and or Temp. problem , how much are you watering it ? If in bud then it should not go all the way dry Gin

The spike is coming out of the top of the cane. Off the top of my head I can't remember the specifics of the plant. I will check its tag.

Light is good but the temp thing is probably my issue. Near a sometimes cold window. It's tough living South of Buffalo, NY.

I desperately want to succeed with this plant so I can justify buying more. Thanks for the help.
