Default My first Paph spike and bud!

This is either Paph. (Makuli-Curtisii) -Maudiae x Paph. Maudiae 'Napa Valley' HCC/AOS x Sib or Paph. Phillippinense var. ALBA #5 x Paph. Somer Isles 'In-Charm' SM/TPS. I mixed up the labels :-(

We'll have to see the flowers to be sure, but the marbled leaves of the plant do point to a Maudiae.

Thanks Cattan, both plants have the marbled leaves so don't know if the flowers will be substantially different.

The difference should be very marked. The one with Paph philippinense should have longer and slimmer lateral petals and be multifloral as well. This looks like a multiflora and so my first assumption could very well be incorrect.

Yes! The wait it killing me. I will say that spike is growing much faster than I expected based on what I've read so pretty happy so far.

It's like watching paint dry, but at the end we get awarded with beautiful blooms.

Thanks for the compliments and comments. I just saw another spike coming out another growth on this plant so I guess I will be getting a really good show! YAY!
