Cool Beallara Tahoma Glacier and Beallara Peggy Ruth Carpenter

    Hello,

I have recently acquired four new orchids for my collection. These are:

    Beallara Tahoma Glacier (in bloom).
Beallara Peggy Ruth Carpenter (in bloom).
    Paphiopedilum rothschildianum (young plant).
Angraecum sesquipedale - young plant (I already have one of these that I acquired a few weeks ago, however I discovered that it was actually Angraecum sesquipedale var augustifolium, which apparently will be a smaller adult plant; I therefore now have both subspecies of A. sesquipedale )

Wonderful plants. I had a Beallara Tahoma Glacier at the very beginning of my 'addiction' so it didn't survive my experiments. Will get me another one when I see one.

Oh, they're LOVELY!! Beallaras (Beallara?) always make me smile! They just seem like cheerful plants. (Well, except the two that I have... I somehow managed to upset them, and I'm not sure what I did. They've been moved into the vivarium, though, so hopefully the controlled conditions will coax them to bloom)

I'm sure those orchids are putting on a magnificent show for you!! I'm drooling over here!

Congrats on the new acquisitons. Both Beallaras are beautiful. Though Tahoma Glacier is supposed to be warmth tolerant, they usually die on us in our hot lowlands.

Thank you for the response. I have them on my desk at the moment, so that they are constantly in full view! Both of them have two spikes each!

    Hi Yew Sung,

Thank you for the compliments. I understand that these two like it cool and moist (but not wet), and slightly shady..The room they are in does have a radiator - which can be turned off, and it is the coolest room. I work in there, and often wear layers because I do not want my orchids to be too hot!
