    Default Dendrobium tortile

Thanks you all for the nice comments and looking!!! That is much appreciated!

Several nobile type dendrobs are in buds and this species is among the first to open. I call them nobile type since they drop their leaves after the canes mature when temperature drops. Pleasant and interesting fragrance!

    Cheers. Hoa.

    Default Dendrobium heterocarpum

Another dendrob species in bloom. It has an interesting sweet fragrance too. When I first had this species, I killed it after 2 years. Later on, after building the greenhouses, I discover that for many dendrobs, they grow well at warm temperatures, like to be kept drier than other orchids but need humidity to keep their roots alive. They also love light, lot of light in order to bloom! And they also love heavy fertilizer doses during growth (late spring/summer/early fall months) but when they start their resting cycle, oh boy, water alone is enough! Tricky tricky plants. After figuring that out, most of them are now very happy!

    Cheers. Hoa.
PS. Slim picking this week since I am very busy, did not have enough time to take pictures...

Good growing tips as well, Hoa! I've never been successful with dends.

    Thumbs up

Beautiful blooms! I love dendrobiums. They grow well for me, so that adds to the allure.

    Default Dendrobium junceum (?)

Teret-leave dendrob species! Very small flowers yet extremely fragrant with sweet scent of honey! Everytime this plant blooms, the whole greenhouse is reeked with its scent!

    Default Dendrobium aphyllum

Fragile looking dendrob blooms! Fragrant too! This plant has very thin yet very long (many many feet!) canes.
    Cheers. Hoa.
