That was back in the old days when I only had about 100. Now I am at 160. And the green is quite abundant in my house. Out of those 160, maybe 5 could be doing better, but things are going extremely well for me, my orchids and my addiction!!

I just bought this one for $10 and now have one at my desk at work. So far, the buds appear to be ok and a couple have opened since I bought it on Saturday.

You are hopeless! I need to finish making my notebook to list all my orchids, where I got them and when I last potted them, so I can keep track. My sense of time has gotten pretty bad as I am getting a little older. I have some that I potted either 2 or 3 or maybe 4 years ago and I just don't remember! I'm pretty sure who I potted last year... I'm giving each one a permanent aluminum tag and cross referencing to my notebook. Each one gets a page (or more if it needs it down the line) in a binder. I'm hoping to get a picture of each one as it blooms and put those in as well.

I don't think I'll manage to water every day, I am too slow, too tired and too busy to do that. I am hoping to remember to water at least once a week, though I know they need more than that. Most of them have adapted though and a couple have done very poorly, no doubt my fault. I may have to limit my orchids to those that can handle my neglect and still thrive and bloom. I hate losing them!

On the cool side, my Onc. 'Sharry Baby' has opened about 1/3 of its more than 120 buds, I have to get a picture to post, then I want one when more are open. The spike is about 52" long! It has another one starting too, crazy plant!!

Terp- what is the name of that one you just got, it is SOOOOOOOOO pretty.
Carolle- That notebook is a good idea. Currently I have mine all listed on an excel spreadsheet, but I don't have when I repotted or when they bloomed so I am adding two more columns to record that info, I do have when I purchased them and where - I printed pictures of all my blooms and laminated them on 3x4 cards and put those cards by each plant so I can dream about what they will look like when they bloom again.

My husband would die if I had orchids on the dining room table and switched out the chandelier for a 4x8 grow light, although he has the garage overflowing with tools and a 1967 muscle car renovation.....

Sorry, it is a NoID phal.

I think it has phal equestris in it by the shape of the petals and sepals but beyond that, it would be just a guess.

    Carol-
    Yes, I am hopeless.

I even mentioned that I was weak resisting orchids back in December 2013. Actually, I am getting stronger now that I have a house full. But still succumb to the 'buy reflex' more often than I'd like!
